Kickstarter: One Week Left

http://kck.st/wjSM8D

We’re in our last week for the Kickstarter campaign to fund the Grimm Fairy Tales Animated Series. We have aimed to bring our fans the highest quality project we can offer and reward them for their support. We have just announced that all backers of the Kickstarter that pledge $50 or more will get $50 worth of printed back issues, on top of all the other pledge rewards we have previously announced for each level.

 The Newest Incentives!

And we also made a “featured incentive” which has a little bit of everything at a fair price point. We called it The Grimm Bagg.

The Grimm Bagg

Here is an update of all the exciting artist, voice over, and pledge announcements we have made…

We have a great deal of positive support, and we are seeing it from the fans, as well as the talented folks looking to get involved. We now just need the pledges. It is an all or nothing funding system, so if we don’t get fully funded, we won’t receive any funding at all.

We have really appreciated all of the excellent coverage we have been getting on the project, and we just need to make one more big push to reach our goal. We have broken the $100,000 mark today.

Support Our Kickstarter, and let’s make this project happen!

Regarding Ms. Doherty’s likeness

Here was Zenescope’s official statement on the question of using Shannon Doherty’s likeness in the Charmed comic.

“Unfortunately Ms. Doherty has declined to be involved in the comic version of Charmed. This includes the use of her likeness. We had hoped that she would allow us to use her image and that we would be able to bring her into the Charmed comic book exactly as she was in the show but at this point that has become impossible. While Ms. Doherty’s likeness will not be used for the character we are still very excited about the direction we are going with Prue and we hope that fans of Charmed will feel the same way.”

Zenescoop Previews: Alice #5

Zenescoop Previews is back with an exciting preview for Alice #5! We are always excited to show you our great books, but Alice #5 has some amazing interiors. Some of the most talented artists to have worked our Zenescope series have returned to do a interior pages in this issue.

The superstar team of artists include:

Robert Gill, Daniel Leister, Sheldon Goh, Martin Montiel, and Vic Drujiniu!

Now, let us see some of the amazing art that came from these talented artists.

Page two was handle by Vic Drujiniu, and his handling of the young Alice is as solid as anyone’s.

Here’s the series’ current artist Robert Gill handling the appearance of the Queen of Spades.

The next page we preview is from Sheldon Goh. He handles some awesome brutality on this page.

And here is a bad ass  two page spread from Daniel Leister. That army is looking quite foreboding…

We end with a page from Martin Montiel, where we see the Queen of Spades getting the attention of the other major players in Wonderland.

So, excited? I can’t imagine how you couldn’t be. This single issue had an all-star team for its interiors and it really shows. Writer Raven Gregory really wanted this issue to be special as we are coming up on our five year anniversary of our Wonderland series. Look for it to release in stores on April 25th!

OUR NEW WEB SERIES “COMIC COMPANY”

Zenescope Entertainment has announced plans for a new documentary web-series entitled “Comic Company” which will give fans a behind-the-scenes look into the goings-on at its office based in the Philadelphia area.

The web-series will consist of short weekly segments documenting day-to-day happenings at the offices of the popular indie comic book publishing house including pitch meetings, job interviews and general interactions and relationships between employees.  It could normally be assumed there is not much excitement inside the walls of a comic book publisher. Zenescope’s work environment could very well be the exception to that rule, with some of the company’s own characters, such as Red Riding Hood, Bigfoot, Mad Hatter, Alice and Calie Liddle, being employed at the office. It’s no surprise that any day at this comic company could turn out to be an extremely interesting one.

“It’s been a pretty unique experience to open our doors to a film crew.” says Zenescope co-founder and Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco “We have a pretty diverse and eccentric collection of personalities here.  Most of our employees were really excited about it with maybe the exception of Bigfoot and the Hatter.  They’re both pretty private in general but all in all they were okay with being involved and I think this will be a very cool glimpse into the inner workings of an entertainment company such as ours.”

The first segment of “Comic Company” will air Wednesday, April 18th at 2pm EST on Zenescope’s Youtube channel. It will be released on a weekly basis exclusively at this link: http://www.youtube.com/user/Zenescope

ZENESCOPE ENTERTAINMENT ADD BILL SIENKIEWICZ, ALEX PARDEE TO KICKSTARTER PROJECT

ZENESCOPE ENTERTAINMENT ADD BILL SIENKIEWICZ, ALEX PARDEE TO KICKSTARTER PROJECT

Philadelphia,PA, April 17, 2012 – Zenescope Entertainment has announced that renowned artists Bill Sienkiewicz and Alex Pardee have joined on the Grimm Fairy Tales Animated Series Kickstarter project. The Kickstarter project is in its final two weeks of funding and is looking for a goal of $175,000.

Here is the video announcement: http://youtu.be/lBQFAPDfr70

The talent associated with this project continues to grow, with Zenescope having recently announced the actresses Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300) and Briana Evigan (Sorority Row, The Devil’s Carnival) have joined the cast.  Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, The Venture Bros.) is directing with Titmouse Studios handling the animation.  Now the team has added legendary artist Bill Sienkiewicz and the ultra-talented Alex Pardee to the mix of animators/designers. This collection of talent makes the Grimm Animated Series one of the highest-quality projects featured on Kickstarter right now. Companies have also seen the project as a worthwhile project to support, with Kickstarter making the project a Staff Pick, and ComiXology handling all of the digital comic rewards.

Zenescope has also put together the definitive rewards package called the “Grimm Bagg”, which features rewards from everyone involved, including the blu-ray combo pack of the series, poster, an art book, graphic novel, signed glossy, trading card and more.  The idea is to get 1000 supporters who want to help make this happen to pledge for the $98 Grimm Bagg which would get this project fully funded.  Pledgers are not charged anything unless the project reaches its goal on May 1st.

Lena Headey joins the Animated Series Kickstarter Project!

Zenescope Entertainment has announced that actress Lena Headey, star of the immensely popular HBO television series GAME OF THRONES, will be joining the Grimm Fairy Tales Animated Series to voice the lead character, Sela Mathers.  Lena’s extensive resume includes her role as Queen Gorgo in 300 and as Sarah Connor in TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES.   This announcement comes on the heels of another talented actress, Briana Evigan (Step Up 2, Sorority Girls, The Devil’s Carnival), having joined onto the project last week.

The GRIMM FAIRY TALES Animated Series will be based on Zenescope Entertainment’s popular comic book series of the same name.  What makes this situation unique is that Zenescope has teamed with Titmouse Animation Studio and Director Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, The  Venture Bros.) to bypass the traditional film studio system by seeking funding  for the  animated series through popular website Kickstarter.com (http://kck.st/wjSM8D ).  The project is live on Kickstarter now until May 1st, 2012 and has a pledge goal of $175,000.

“We set the goal of the animated series at 175K because we wanted to give our fans and those supporting the Kickstarter a high-quality product.” Explains Zenescope Marketing Manager Stephen Haberman “We’re partnering with Titmouse, one of the premiere animation studios in the world, to handle the animation.  We have Jon Schnepp directing and now with Lena and Briana joining the project, we’re able to take it to another level.”

“Crowd-funding can be a powerful tool.  We’ve seen some really exciting projects find funding through Kickstarter and it’s a game changer.”  Said Zenescope’s Editor-in-Chief, Ralph Tedesco “It gives us a chance to make this series the way our fans want to see it be made.  We’re about a third of the way there with funding and hopefully now with the all of the talent we’ve brought on board fans will see that this can be an amazing project to back.”
