Whore Reviews and Interviews !

The Fellowship of the Geek provide yet another excellent review for the graphic novel, Whore. The book is published by Zenescope Entertainment and is on sale now!

“The book has a sort of James Bond-esque feel to it; Jake does things that we only dream about or watch on the movie screen. And he does tend to go a bit farther than Bond ever would (at least on screen)… this book is an adventure from start to finish. Definitely worth checking out.”

Brandon Borzelli and ComicList gives a great review of Whore, on sale now from Zenescope Entertainment!

“I found this book to start off as a dark parody that turned into a page-turner that left me stunned at the end. For the most part the book is PG-13 (a lot cursing and very soft sex scenes with no nudity) that was a very entertaining and definitely worth a look.”

Bill Jemas and Zenescope Team Up for Wake the F#ck Up

Zenescope Entertainment, one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world, has announced plans to release Wake the F#ck Up, an all-new comic book that is scheduled for an October release date. Wake the F#ck Up is written by former Marvel Comics President Creator Bill Jemas.

In 2011, Go the F*ck to Sleep, hit #1 on Amazon’s best seller list – speaking to sleepy parents desperate to put their toddlers to bed. In 2012, Wake the F#ck Up, bangs the funny bones of parents dying to get their teens out of bed and out the door.

Wake the F#ck Up starts as a storybook parody of best-seller Go the Fuck to Sleep. In lyrical tones, parents encourage their kids to get out of bed and out the door, to put down their games and pick up their books. But after years of blank, sleepy stares and passive aggressive sloth, the parents explode into expletives and kick their 20-somethings out the door. Then, Wake the F#ck Up transforms into a comic book in which the next generation takes over, as we see the same story from their point of view.

“When the comics were in a deep hole, Bill helped restart the industry by focusing Marvel Comics on the teen audience. I’m personally a huge fan of the work he did at Marvel,” said Zenescope President Joe Brusha. “Wake the Fu#k up is like nothing I’ve seen in comics before, in a very good way. We expect it to be a ground breaking book and think it will be a big hit not only with comic book readers but with an even wider audience.”

Bill Jemas was the architect Ultimate Spider-Man and Origin of Wolverine, two of the bestselling graphic novels in history.

This story is beautifully-illustrated by Dzialowski and Cyril Saint-blancat, a talented team of up-and-coming French artists handpicked by Jemas. Printed with high-gloss covers on high quality stock, this prestige comic collectible is a great gift for parents of teens, for teens of parents, and for every comic fan.

Wake the F#ck Up hits shelves in October and is available for order in this month’s Diamond Previews.  Visit Zenescope’s blog at blog.zenescope.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/Zenescope for more information.

Zenescope’s Gaming for a Cause

Zenescope fans are awesome.  This much is obvious. You guys have helped us fund the animated series pilot, came out in droves to our convention booths to meet us, and sang our praises all over social media. Thank you.

So Steve, your friendly digital voice on Zenescope here on the blog, and on social media, came up with a digital event worth looking into if you want to have another unique experience with your favorite Zenescope crew.

Zenescope is doing Extra Life. Extra Life is a 24 hour gaming marathon where gamers pledge to play video games for 24 hours straight and take donations in support of their marathon. 100% of the money raised goes to the Children’s Hospital Network to support the children’s hospitals in their area.  You can find the team page here:

http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=8662

So, we wanted the fans to know we would be playing and are open to having fans join the team. You are also welcome to donate, or just play along with us. We will be playing Saturday, October 20. Zenescope staff team members include: Stephen Haberman, Dave Franchini, and Matt Rogers so far, with more planning to join in on the fun.

If you decide to donate or join the team, you will be entered to win prizes, including Zenescope t-shirts, comics, and even MegaTouch will have some Grimm Fairy Tales Photohunt game codes to give away. We will also be putting together 3 prize packages for the 3 highest donors.  We hope that you are able to participate in the marathon, or at least watch as our team plays for the kids!
