Did you know that November 4th is Book Lovers Day? Now this is our kind of holiday! For a little something fun to do to celebrate, we asked some of the artists and writers of Zenescope for their all time favorite books and comic books! Here is what they said:
Chuck Dixon, writer for Van Helsing vs. The Werewolf and the upcoming Robyn Hood: The Curse; “When I was a kid I found this Batman 80 Page Giant in a barrel at a junkyard! I read it again and again. But my favorite story is The Strange Costumes of Batman.”
Dixon went on to say, “Another big comic book moment for me is Fantastic Four #5. Why? Because Doom.”
David Lorenzo Riveiro, an artist who has done multiple covers for Zenescope such as GFT Genesis: Heroes Rising Cover B and Death Force #5 – Cover I, had sent over a hefty list of a few of his favorites, some of which include Kingdom Come, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, Nextwave, Persepolis, and Punk Rock Jesus.
And finally we heard from Mike DeBalfo, a fan-favorite Zenescope artist who has worked on covers such as Day of the Dead #2 – Cover F and Grimm Tales of Terror Vol. 3 #7 – Cover D. DeBalfo mentioned that some of his childhood favorites included X-Men (Jim Lee era of course), Spawn, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Crow, and Gen13.
How are you planning on celebrating Book Lovers Day? We hope that everyone is able to make time to sit down and read through some of their favorite comics, novels, magazines, or any other favorite reading materials! Happy Book Lovers Day everyone!
