Zenescope Announces Alice in Wonderland Sell-Outs and Reprint

Zenescope Entertainment has announced plans for a second printing of Alice in Wonderland #1. The company’s newest Wonderland mini-series was released in January of 2012 and the initial printing sold through its 20,000 copy print run within the first few days of its release.

Further, the company has announced that Alice in Wonderland #2 has also sold out of its first printing within one day of its release after hitting shelves Wednesday, February 22nd.

Zenescope has decided to go to a second printing of issue #1 due to significant demand for additional copies from retailers and fans. Zenescope is hoping to have this second printing of issue #1 available for a March release. The company has not yet announced a reprint of issue #2.

“In five years of publishing various Wonderland mini-series, we’ve seen the demand for more Wonderland continue to increase.” said Zenescope EIC Ralph Tedesco. “Our loyal fan base has been at the heart of it all and we can’t express enough gratitude for their support.”

This news comes on the heels of CS Moore’s announcement for an Alice in Wonderland action figure. The figure was sculpted by industry star Clayburn Moore as Zenescope has teamed with CS Moore Studios to release a series of action figures based on Zenescope’s strong and sexy heroines from the series.

Alice in Wonderland #1 and #2 can currently be downloaded digitally using the Zenescope app for iphone and ipad and at Comxiology for ios or android users.

Zenescoop Previews: Alice in Wonderland #2

Zenescoop Previews is back and we have a real treat for you. Alice #1 sold out on release day (though it’s still available on Comixology and the Zenescope app), and is the fastest selling title in Zenescope’s history. We wanted to thank our fans for picking up the book, and we certainly hope you enjoyed it. Now it’s time to preview the next issue in the series.

1,000 Ways to Die released this week, as well as a number of other strong issues from our Grimm Myths and Legends and Grimm Fairy Tales series. We’ll certainly preview the interiors of those as well. The upcoming release of Alice is what we’re focusing on today.

Without further ado, Alice #2 :

Stjepan Sejic gave us the cover to Alice #2, and what a cover it is. I’m just amazed by how bright the fungus seems to be. The gals look fantastic too, but that goes without say. It is a great cover. Now, onto the interiors…

That’s pages 4, 5, 9 and now, the completed the two page spread that we saw the pencils of last week…

Very nice!

Jason Embury did a great job on the coloring in this issue. Robert Gill’s layouts and pencils are very just as solid as ever. These two have teamed up well to bring the fans another quality issue of Alice. The previews will keep on coming, so make sure to continue to check the blog continuously. Also, don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below. The more you talk, the more we listen.

ZENECOPE’S ALICE IN WONDERLAND #1 SELLS OUT

Zenescope Entertainment is reporting that the #1 issue of new comic book title Alice in Wonderland has sold out through Diamond Comic Distributors. Further, the #1 issue has sold through the 19,000 initial printing on the first day of its release.  At this time there are no plans to do a second printing of the book but Zenescope has made the comic book available for digital download immediately through the Comixology and Zenescope Apps and can be purchased there.

Zenescope’s Alice in Wonderland is a new mini-series featuring Alice Liddle as she journeys through the insanity-filled realm of Wonderland.  Zenescope first visited the mythology of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland back in 2007 with the breakout hit Return To Wonderland.  The indie comic book publisher has since released multiple mini-series that re-imagine Lewis Carroll’s classic story as a present day horror and fantasy tale.

“To sell out of a large print run this quickly is stunning.” said Zenescope Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco. “It’s a great feeling to have such a loyal and continually growing fan base that responds so well to our re-imagining of Wonderland.  The good news is that there’s more of it to come.”

“We’ve been planning to tell this story for a long time and it seems that our fans have been patiently waiting for it.  It’s awesome to see this kind of response”, says series writer Raven Gregory.

Zenescope’s Alice in Wonderland is being written by Raven Gregory and features interior artwork and coloring by Robert Gill and Jason Embury. This first issue features cover art by Artgerm, Ebas, and Nei Ruffino. The first issue has also been released digitally on the same day as the printed version and is available through the Zenescope and Comixology Apps.

Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world.  Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today.   Zenescope’s licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema’s successful film franchises.

Zenescoop Previews: Alice #1

What a crazy week it was. What with all this crazy SOPA stuff, the excitement for our giveaway, Alice release just one week away and Domo stuff invading our office. The excitement is palpable.

We have returned for another look into our books, and with all the excitement around the release of Alice #1, we thought this would be a great time for you to see some of the interiors of the book. Without further ado, Alice #1 :

Cover B By Ebas

Cover C By Nei

Eric Basaldua and Nei Ruffino did an amazing job on these two covers. All of the covers are very good for Alice 1 and these are two good examples.

The interiors for Alice are just as stellar, as you can see here:

And a little bit further along in the book…

Here’s page 2, 3, 17 and 18, with Robert Gill doing the artwork and Jason Embury doing the coloring throughout the book. Robert has a real unique styling to his layouts. We are actually so excited about them, we wanted to give you an exclusive sneak peek and one of the pages from Alice #2 as well…

Jason Embury is going to have quite a bit of work to do on this one, but we can’t wait to see the finished pages. This is just another great example of the very talented Robert Gill.
