Zenescoop Previews: Hit List #1

Zenescoop Previews is back with a big debut issue, Hit List #1, the brain child of Editor in Chief and co-founder Ralph Tedesco. If you haven’t heard about this new series yet, here’s what to expect:

Are we ever truly safe from evil? What if you had the means to play God, choosing who lives and dies? Threats exist all around us and the lives of so many have been ruined by others evil deeds. Now one man will seek vengeance for all those who share in his pain. When a group of professional killers is brought together in order to take out a crew of gangsters, what starts as a seemingly good plan spirals into something more threatening and deadly than anyone saw coming.

Excited? We certainly are! So,  without further ado, here is the preview of Hit List #1.

Now, those are some awesome covers, but the interiors are equally as good. We’re so excited to be able to publish a book like this to our fans, seeing as how it is now a twist on a classic tale, but a modern, action-drama. The interior artist is Sami Kivela, colors by Bryan Valenza, and letters by Jim Campbell.

Zenescope Entertainment Announces its HIT LIST

zen_circlelogo

Zenescope Entertainment will be publishing a new original action-thriller comic book series entitled HIT LIST. Zenescope co-founder and Editor-in-Chief, Ralph Tedesco (Grimm Fairy Tales, Salem’s Daughter), will be penning the series which is a slight departure from the mostly supernatural and horror fare Tedesco has co-created with writing partner and Zenescope President, Joe Brusha.

Hit List is a series about an underground crew of professional killers funded by a wealthy entrepreneur. In the first series arc, the collection of assassins attempts to methodically take out members of a dangerous white supremacist gang that deals in human trafficking.

“The story follows an ensemble of very different characters who happen to be paid killers. What if there was someone rich and ballsy enough to put together such a crew because idealistically he wants to make the world safer? I thought it would be fun to explore what could happen and, more importantly, what could go wrong.” says Tedesco “The story is very fast-paced and the action is in-your-face violent. There’s very little downtime in this series which will be a blast for readers.”

Fly: The Fall Coming this October

Zenescope Entertainment has announced plans to release a new chapter in the critically acclaimed FLY comic book series.  The sequel is entitled FLY “The Fall” and is scheduled for an October release date.   Written by creator Raven Gregory (The Waking, Wonderland), the series includes cover art for issue #1 by David Mack, Ale Garza and Darick Robertson.  Interior artwork will be handled by Robert Gill (Alice in Wonderland). Upon release in 2011, the original Fly mini-series was touted as one of the best comics of 2011 by Wizard World, Pop Culture Addict, Comic Buzz, Talking Comics and Geekadelpia.  The backstory behind the creation of the series was also showcased in a poignant USA Today article.

Fly: The Fall continues soon after the life-shattering events of the last volume.  Following the death if his ex-girlfriend, Eddie is now a broken man set on a path of self-destruction from which he may not return.  Meanwhile Francis sets his game-plan in motion to destroy the man who killed is father.  Set in a world where the super-heroes aren’t really heroes at all… How far would you go to Fly?

“I can’t tell you how anxious I’ve been to return to this world,” shares writer Raven Gregory. “There are few books I write that I can pour myself into like this.  All the pain and personal struggles make this story the perfect outlet to express how addiction is an ongoing battle, even when one’s clean.”

“What I love about this story is how dark and grounded it is. Ultimately it’s a very character-driven drama which happens to include lots of great action and a badass vengeance plot.” says Zenescope’s EIC Ralph Tedesco “It’s such a personal story for Raven which parallels his own battle with addiction and I think that’s why so many people connect to the series and why it’s been so well received by both fans and critics.”

FLY: The Fall #1 hits shelves in October and is available for order in this month’s Diamond Previews.  Visit Zenescope’s blog at blog.zenescope.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/Zenescope for more information on Fly.

This Week in Releases: February 1st

It is unseasonably warm outside, which was the perfect excuse for us to go out and play some basketball. I am nearly the worst player on earth, but it was fun  to be outside. Sometimes you need to take your mind off of work. Then, after “b-ball lunch”, we rolled back into the office and started powering through these comics. We are really excited about what we’re releasing, and you should be too. Today marks the release of the first ongoing series under our Silver Dragon Books imprint, entitled Jurassic Strike Force 5.

Print Releases

  • Jurassic Strike Force 5 #1
  • Charmed #18 (Enjoy Charmed fans!)
  • Brimstone #7 (The thrilling conclusion!)
