ZENESCOPE CREATORS SPEAK ON… GRIMM TALES OF TERROR #1

The cut-off for pre-order dates for July releases is quickly approaching, and the creative team behind Zenescope Entertainment’s GRIMM TALES OF TERROR #1, which marks the company’s return to the horror anthology format that put us on the map, has a message for readers and retailers!
“GRIMM FAIRY TALES and WONDERLAND, and of course our SE7EN prequel back in 2006 were all definitely spawned from horror. This brings those elements back into the forefront a little more than they have been. With Grimm Tales of Terror, we’re blending horror with some dark humor and delving into urban legends, classic horror stories from Poe, and even original stories. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

– Ralph Tedesco, writer and co-creator

“Fans of our original GFT issues, Tales from the Crypt, and Twilight Zone will feel right at home with Tales of Terror. It features retellings of classic and beloved stories, and also some new ones that will prove just as tantilizing. And then you have the deeply moody art of Antonio Bifulco that is sure to thrill and terrify. This is really a series no horror fan should miss.”

ZENESCOPE CREATORS SPEAK… on Realm War #1

The cut-off for pre-order dates for July releases is quickly approaching, and the creative team behind Zenescope Entertainment’s climatic REALM WAR #1 has a message for readers and retailers!

“This is a series that fans can’t afford to miss. Not only is it the culmination of the Age of Darkness storyline, but the fate of all the characters in the Grimm Universe is at stake and no one is safe. There will be a lot of twists and turns before the end and not everyone is going to survive the series. It’s going to be an exciting and surprising ride.”

– Joe Brusha, writer and co-creator

“Realm War is a must read for fans who’ve been enjoying all of the Age of Darkness releases. Grimm 100 ends on such a great cliffhanger, you’ll definitely want to know where it goes from there and how the Age of Darkness story will end!”

CREATORS SPEAK… on GFT #100!

The cut-off for pre-order dates for July releases is quickly approaching, and the creative team behind Zenescope Entertainment’s GRIMM FAIRY TALES #100 has a message for readers and retailers!

“The fact that we’ve hit an issue #100 is such a great feeling and it proves that we have a dedicated and loyal fan base. We’re looking forward to really blowing readers away with both the artwork and story.”

– Ralph Tedesco, co-writer and co-creator

“If you are a current reader of Zenescope’s Grimm Universe books – Grimm Fairy Tales, OZ, Wonderland, Robyn Hood, etc. – then this book is absolutely a must read, it is going have a major impact on the Grimm Universe.  If you have never picked up an issue of Grimm Fairy Tales, give it a try!  I’m confident you will enjoy it.   From a personal perspective, after doing strictly covers for over two years, I’m extremely excited to be back on interiors for this issue, and I think that shows through in the final product. Grimm Fairy Tales #100 is loaded with non-stop action and colorful characters, really highlighting the epic nature of the Grimm universe, and I couldn’t be happier with how it has come out.  Ivan Nunes is doing amazing things with the colors. We’re celebrating the 100th issue of Grimm Fairy Tales in style, so preorder now and don’t miss out!”

Zenescoop Previews: Hit List #1

Zenescoop Previews is back with a big debut issue, Hit List #1, the brain child of Editor in Chief and co-founder Ralph Tedesco. If you haven’t heard about this new series yet, here’s what to expect:

Are we ever truly safe from evil? What if you had the means to play God, choosing who lives and dies? Threats exist all around us and the lives of so many have been ruined by others evil deeds. Now one man will seek vengeance for all those who share in his pain. When a group of professional killers is brought together in order to take out a crew of gangsters, what starts as a seemingly good plan spirals into something more threatening and deadly than anyone saw coming.

Excited? We certainly are! So,  without further ado, here is the preview of Hit List #1.

We’re so excited to be able to publish a book like this to our fans, seeing as how it is now a twist on a classic tale, but a modern, action-drama. The interior artist is Sami Kivela, colors by Bryan Valenza, and letters by Jim Campbell.

Wonderland #1 is Zenescope’s Best-Selling Comic Ever

Zenescope Entertainment, the company known most for its take on horror and supernatural thrillers, has announced that the #1 issue of its new Wonderland ongoing series has become the best-selling comic in the company’s seven year history.

The original Wonderland trilogy (Return to Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, Escape From Wonderland) had been Zenescope’s most popular series to date. Now the Wonderland ongoing series continues that tradition with record sales that have surpassed expectations. The ongoing series picks up years after protagonist Calie Liddle escaped the horrors of the realm of madness called Wonderland.  Calie’s been living in obscurity with her now teenage daughter, Violet, as they try to hide from their past.  But they know deep down that Wonderland never lets one go and Calie realizes that soon she will need to fight back again.

Wonderland #1 was our best-selling comic ever and it’s a testament to the creative teams behind the entire Wonderland series since it began in ’07.” said Zenescope’s Editor-in-Chief, Ralph Tedesco “Our fans have supported this series for over five years now and we’re so appreciative of their support.”

This news comes just after Zenescope Entertainment announced that Lionsgate Studios picked up the rights to Zenescope’s Wonderland to produce for Television.  Brian Robbins (Smallville) will serve as an executive producer on the project while Zenescope’s Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco will co-executive produce.

Not only is Wonderland selling at a rapid pace in stores but Wonderland #1 is also seeing significant success through digital download.  The issue is one of the company’s fastest-selling digital releases through digital distributor ComiXology and was one of Comixology’s top-selling digital comics for the month of July.

Meanwhile, Zenescope Entertainment continues to grow its Wonderland product line by recently releasing its first ever action figures with CS Moore Studios as well as a Wonderland board game through board game developer 5th Planet Games.

Wonderland #1 is currently available digitally through ComiXology and can also be ordered directly on Zenescope’s website. Go to www.zenescope.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/Zenescope for more information.

Here’s a preview of the interiors of Wonderland #1

About Zenescope Entertainment

Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world.  Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today.  Zenescope’s licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema’s successful film franchises.

ZENESCOPE TO PUBLISH “SLEEPY HOLLOW”

Zenescope Entertainment, the company known for re-inventing classic tales as horror and thrillers, has announced plans to release a new Grimm Fairy Tales spinoff comic book series.  This time the story of Sleepy Hollow will receive the Zenescope remake and is scheduled for an October release date.  The mini-series is written by Dan Wickline (The Adventures of Sinbad, Call of Wonderland) with story by Zenescope’s Joe Brusha, Ralph Tedesco and Raven Gregory.  Cover art for issue #1 is by Marat Mychaels and Matt Triano, and interior artwork for the series will be handled by Allan Otero (Salem’s Daughter: The Haunting, Grimm Fairy Tales).

Zenescope Entertainment’s Sleepy Hollow takes place on campus of the fictional Tarrytown University in upstate New York.  The story of the headless horseman has become something of myth and legend but it’s a legend that is about to become all too real when a college prank goes deadly wrong.  Those responsible will learn the truth behind the legend as the Headless Horseman returns to exact a disturbing revenge that none will ever forget.

“I’m very excited about taking on this project,” states series writer Dan Wickline. “If you think about it, Sleepy Hollow is the starting point for a lot of the horror out there today. It was the first story to use the basic premise that we see in slasher films and the blueprint to many of the unstoppable anti-heroes we have today.  I call them anti-heroes because deep down inside most of us are rooting for the killer when we read or watch these kinds of stories.  With this series I want to do what Zenescope has become famous for doing, taking classic tales told to children and turning them up to eleven.  I get to crank up the fright and it should be a hell of a ride.”

Dan Wickline has left his mark on previous Zenescope titles, including the current Call of Wonderland mini-series, the Grimm Fairy Tales: Sinbad spinoff and many of the popular Tales from Wonderland comics.  His work has always been very well-received by Zenescope readers and this series should prove to be no exception.

Sleepy Hollow #1 hits shelves in October in time for Halloween and is available for order in this month’s Diamond Previews.  Go to Zenescope’s website at www.zenescope.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/Zenescope for more information.
